What's for Dinner??

October 26th, 2012

I have decided to dedicate my first post to a basic necessity of life...FOOD!

With a 10:00 business curfew here in Utah County, it is always hard to figure out where to go to fill up after a long day of work, gym, school, and life. So what's a man to do?

Well my lovely wife and I have been driving past an exquisitely decorated building called The Banana Leaf Restaurant every day now since our semester started here at BYU and we have been dying to eat at this place. Our friends have all spoken very highly of it so we were a little bit curious to see what hid behind the walls of this Sri Lankan and Singaporean restaurant.

I stole this picture from their website:
thebananaleafrestaurant.com

So just a little bit about this place "The Banana Leaf Restaurant", their address is:

409 North University Avenue
Provo, UT
84601
(801)205-7619

It is very close to BYU Campus for you desperate students to take your beloved companions for a sweet date night spot.
How to describe The Banana Leaf???? Think of Chef's Table meets exotic and inexpensive amazing food and marries in a plethora of tasty spices, and that is the Banana Leaf.

If your wife/girlfriend is anything like my sweetheart, they will LOVE the decor! It was impressive, Comfortable, private seating, authentic music, beautiful pictures and batiks, relaxing atmosphere.

If you are like me, you will love the food! We had the Tikka Masala Curry with Pa'an(#3), and The Sri Lankan Lamprice (#5). To drink we chose to of their specials: The Avocado Shake and the Aloe Vera Juice.

The food was just perfect. I really can't describe it any other way.....It was better by far than any Indian restaurant we have ever been to. The drinks were also really good. The Avocado Shake was kind of sweet tasting, like ice cream and avocados and vanilla all blended together to make this epic shake. I wanted two but my Sadie capped me off at 1. Sad Day.

She chose to order the Aloe Vera Juice and I think she really loved it. It is very "healthy" tasting. A little sweet, but there is a lot of Aloe Vera pulp inside and it tastes really fresh.

All together our bill came to about $30 which wasn't bad. I can see us going back a lot this semester just to be in that beautiful relaxing place, with my beautiful woman, eating beautiful food.

Try it out!
